Choosing A Garmin GPS Watch For Your Needs

Garmin is an industry leader in the GPS systems market. With an experience of about 25 years, the company has developed a thorough understanding of how the world GPS works. It has accrued knowledge and understanding of every aspect of GPS. Thus, the company is in a better position to predict the people’s needs with regards to GPS systems. This fact is well demonstrated by the fact that Garmin was a pioneer in placing GPS in watches with its Forerunner 101 watch.

Over time, the company has perfected its GPS watches and with this, they have developed new and diverse products for their customers. Herein is a look at some of their products as well as a brush over the products.

Forerunner 230 – this is another new Garmin GPS watch. It is able to track distance covered, pace, VO2 Max heart rate and time. It has an activity tracking feature that counts daily steps calories, sleep and distance. For connectivity and data sharing the watch is capable of automatic uploads to Garmin Connect and live tracking. Other features include audio prompts and music controls. The weight of the watch is 41g and has a screen resolution of 215 x 180 pixels.

The Forerunner 235 – this is one of their latest offerings. It is essentially a wrist-based monitor that can track your pace, distance, heart rate, time and other aspects. It can track your daily steps, calories and sleep and distance covered. For connectivity purposes, the watch comes with automatic uploads to Garmin Connect and social media sharing capabilities. It also has audio prompts. The watch comes with a screen resolution of 215 x 180 pixel, producing a bright and clear display. The weight of the watch is a mere 42g.

The Forerunner 920XT – this is an advanced performance tracking Garmin GPS watch. For swimming purposes, it can track swim distance, identify stroke types, track pace, count strokes, logging the athletes’ drills and track the rest time. For running, the watch can track ground contact time, cadence and vertical oscillation. It comes with automatic uploads to Garmin Connect, social media sharing and live tracking capabilities. It weighs 62g and has a screen resolution of 205 x 148 pixels.

Fenix 3 HR – this watch is fine tuned to tracking even in the harshest environments. It has an Omni-directional stainless steel antenna that tracks your movement even in challenging environments. It measures your heart rate and tracks aspects of running such as vertical oscillation and vertical ratio and much more. It has other sensors including a compass, barometer and altimeter. The display size is 1.2” and has a resolution of 218 X 218. It weighs 86.1 g.

VivoActive – this Garmin GPS Watch is designed for people with active lifestyles. It is ultra-thin and features a sunlight readable touchscreen. It also has a long battery life, lasting for up to 3 weeks. The GPS and the apps that come with the watch can track swimming, running, golfing and biking. The watch can be paired with your phone to display notification alerts of texts, calls, emails and calendar.
